Dr Alan O’Sullivan

Managing Director

Alan is the founder and Managing Director of Priya Wealth Management. He is a certified financial Planner (CFP®) with over 20 years of client facing experience. Alan holds a Doctorate in Finance from Maynooth university where his PhD research focused on optimal portfolio construction. He is
regularly invited as a guest lecturer at Maynooth University and University of Galway. Alan is a senior lecturer in Dublin Business School and has delivered the MBA (Global Financial Markets) since 2018.

Alan is the head of investment strategy within the firm and together with our independent investment committee colleagues, devises all the firm’s investment strategies. Alan began his career as a Quantity surveyor, and holds master’s degrees in finance from Dublin City University and University College Dublin. He is currently undertaking the Diploma in Trust and Estate Planning offered jointly by the Law Society of Ireland and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Alan is a member of the Institute of Bankers (IOB), Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), Financial Planners of Ireland (FPI) and Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Jim Shiggins

Associate Director

Jim has over forty years’ experience in the banking and financial services sector. He holds both the QFA (Qualified Financial Adviser) and FIATI (Fellow of the Institute Accounting Technicians) designations.


He was Head of Wealth Management Sales in Cantor Fitzgerald , and was involved in several fund raises within the EIIS sector and has a particular interest in funds

Prof. Gregory Connor

Academic Advisor

Professor Connor is a globally renowned expert in portfolio risk analysis, factor modelling, financial econometrics and security market pricing. Greg will act as an academic advisor in relation to the firms in-house quantitative research and asset pricing. Greg was asked to provide expert evidence to the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry (along with Prof. Eamonn Walsh, UCD) in February 2015. Most recently until his retirement from academic life in 2024, he was Professor of Finance at the Department of Economics, Finance & Accounting, National University of Ireland, Maynooth, and Senior Research Associate, Financial Markets Group, London School of Economics. Prior to his tenure in Maynooth University, Greg was Professor of Finance at the London School of Economics, and Director of the Asset Pricing and Portfolio Management Research Programme. Previously he held roles including Reader in Finance, Department of Accounting and Finance, London School of Economics and Director of Research, Europe, BARRA Inc., and Visiting Fellow, Department of Accounting and Finance, London School of Economics. Before his various roles in the London School of Economics, Prof Connor worked as Assistant Professor of Finance in the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley and Assistant Professor of Finance, Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.

Muriel Callaghan

Head of operations

Muriel is our Head of operations. She manages our compliance and administration operations to ensure the best service experience for our clients. Muriel manages administrative functions, streamlining processes and implementing initiatives to support our financial planning services, aiming for operational excellence. In addition, Muriel is also responsible for driving our marketing strategy. This includes our regular client investment publications, event coordination, including media relations and speaking events. She has over 25 year’s experience of professional practise management. Muriel began her career in healthcare and ran a busy clinic before joining Priya Wealth.

David Beaton

David Beaton

Investment consultant

David has 40 years’ experience in financial markets having worked for Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland prior to his retirement in October 2023.


David began his career as a stockbroker in Dublin stockbroking firm Butler & Briscoe which was subsequently acquired by Dolmen Stockbrokers in the mid-1990’s which in turn was acquired by Cantor Fitzgerald, one of the largest US investment firms.


David’s main role for Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland was as Chief Investment Officer and he was also responsible for the firms Discretionary Portfolio Management service until his retirement.


In his role as CIO, David was responsible for evaluating and analysing portfolio investment strategy leading to decision making on asset allocation across discretionary portfolios.


David obtained a Diploma In Business Studies from College of Commerce Rathmines in 1984 and a Diploma in Advanced Business Studies- Bachelor in Business Science from Trinity College in 1985.
